Step into the STEAM  2026 exhibition at the Pensacola Museum of Art, and you step into Pippin Frisbie-Calder’s bird world: “Extinct, Threatened, Restored.”

Spread across three walls of the gallery, the exhibit showcases what’s at stake when we protect birds and the places they need. As the museum explains, “With floor-to-ceiling prints and paintings, this immersive, multi-media art installation transports participants to the world’s first restored seabird colony” and beyond.  One wall is dedicated to the Ivory-billed Woodpecker, believed to be extinct. On the middle wall, Frisbie-Calder highlights songbird species experiencing threats to their survival, including cats, migration hazards, a changing climate, and more. Finally, on the third wall, Frisbie-Calder depicts puffins and their

restored Maine populations.
