The native Florida fish species swirled around me, oblivious to my wide eyes inside Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park’s Underwater Observatory. Built down into the spring itself, the circular, subsurface room flowed blue, light streaming in from the giant windows.
